“There are cheaper lights available on the market, but Creamsource offers the high quality and reliability that a national broadcaster requires and expects.”

France Télévisions, the French public television broadcaster, has replaced the tungsten lights in three of its broadcast studios with an array of LED lights from Outsight. In order to select the best lighting solution, France Télévisions’ technical team turned to the French distributor EuroLight System, which has worked with the broadcaster for 20 years.

Frederic Francey, General Manager, EuroLight System, says, “France Télévisions wanted to replace the older tungsten lights in three of its studios with high-powered, top quality LED lights. Creamsource units are used by several well-known French directors of photography including Joël Durban, who lights the most important TV shows for France Télévisions, so these units were the obvious choice for the studios.”

EuroLight System supplied and installed a mix of Creamsource Classic lights and Creamsource Mini units. Studio A, the ‘national news’ TV studio, and Studio B, where daily morning magazine shows are produced, are both equipped with Classic daylight floods, plus a pole operated yoke and Chimera Soft Box. Mini Doppio daylight units were installed in France Televisions’ Training TV studio, which enables staff to train with broadcast-quality equipment.

“Creamsource LEDs provide flattering lighting with a wide beam of light and good CRI, they are easy to install, and are built to last with robust housings,” adds Frederic. “There are cheaper lights available on the market, but Creamsource offers the high quality and reliability that a national broadcaster requires and expects.”
